When Sunita and her husband came to meet me for IVF 5 years ago, I was shaken. Not knowing how strong and competent both of them were, I asked them how they would manage to look after their child, as both of them had progressively lost their vision completely over the past few years due to a degenerative retinal disease

Sunita laughed my concerns away and just asked me to do my best to enable her to get pregnant as soon as possible

In her very first cycle, she became pregnant🤰 and then her first ultrasound showed her to be carrying twins. Sunita and her husband were overjoyed, but I was worried about possible complications like preterm delivery and a possible NICU stay for the newborns adding to their expenses.

So I convinced them to use the services of the Government setup at AIIMS for their delivery. Using my old contacts, I was also able to get them enrolled at the Social Service Counter at AIIMS, which enabled them to get a guide right at the outer gate of AIIMS every time they went there for their ante natal check, so that they did not get lost in AIIMS’s labyrinthine corridors.

Both her babies were born at term, and Sunita went home happy and called me up to say that she would come and meet me very soon and show me her beautiful babies.

Time flies, and looking after a pair of twins in no easy task, Sunita was unable to take out time to come and meet me, and I could completely understand.

Imagine my joy and surprise when she dropped in at my clinic last month with her beautiful babies, all of 4 years old. It was a heart rendering moment for all of us, full of hugs and laughter, both the boys unable to understand why both their parents were so joyous and had tears in their eyes at the same time.
